Going for a PB...

OK, I gotta tell someone. This coming Friday I've planned to ride my longest ride ever. It will be a solo effort over hilly terrain, no major climbs though. The plan is to leave home approximately 4am and return after 300 km's. My longest solo distance thus far is 223 km's so it's not a huge leap.

I'm very excited, and a bit nervous.

you can do it, how long it all depend on you considering the winter weather you have their at B.C.

Thanks. I'm going with a different technique this time. I usually try to hammer it out fast, tuck alot, ride in the drops etc. This time I'll be staying upright, keeping the speed down and enjoying it a bit more.

Good luck, man. Breaking personal records is what it's all about!

300kms? thats roughly 187miles right? Wow, thats an insane distance, supposedly my uncle did a double century when he was in college. I can't imagine riding that far, my personal best is like 120miles and I almost died.....

Good luck man! Your an animal:)

Double century....that's hardcore! I need to put that on my list of things to accomplish, right after riding across the whole country.

I plan to be up to a full double century (200 miles) by the spring. And in 2006, I want to participate in the Tour du Canada!

Canada pretty much plays out like this from west to east. Rain, mountains, corn field, cn tower, rain and done.

Make sure to use some butt butter or something. I get chaffed bad sometimes with just 60 miles. cant imagine 3 times that, I think I would wear all the way through my legs.

I don't usually get butt or other chaffing issues, but for anything over 100km, I use Sportsbalm as a precaution. The only pains I get are neck and feet. I think I've got both of those isuues worked out, so here's hoping all is well.
