Stowing a Rain Jacket?

Right now I have a saddle bag and a stem bag, and neither is large enough to stow a rain jacket. So I ride with it rolled up and tied around my waist. A hydration pack or panniers would be overkill. Any other options? Maybe a triangular frame bag would be big enough, or maybe just wrap it around the top tube, or strap it to the saddle bag.

what kind of jacket are you using? i have a pactimo rain jacket which is just a thin waterproof plastic jacket that easily stuffs into a jersey pocket. if yours doesn't fit in pockets maybe get something lighter weight and layer under it instead

here's mine, it also has vents under the armpits and back and lining on the collar. they only cost ~20$

Ahh, I forgot about that option! My current rain jacket is just a shell but is still kind of bulky since it's intended for hiking.

I use a jacket that folds up into a pouch and attaches to my waist.

Performance makes one that is similar.

How much does it take to make a jersey waterproof?

OP: buy a rain jacket that folds up small enough to stuff in a jersey pocket. Tied around the waist is a bad idea- if it comes loose it'll get sucked into the rear wheel.

I never have found a need for a rain jacket, as I sweat through my jersey very quickly, but I could see how if you're not hammering, you'd like one.

I've found breathable windproof jackets to be the best very helpful on cold days. However, the Gore Windstopper jackets are usually good enough to accomodate that without needing to stash it. On hotter days, just go without the rain jacket.

I was kidding. Doesn't really waterproof. Just provides heat in the rain, protects skin from harsh elements and helps muscles perform in cold weather, etc. Used on legs instead of wearing drenched leg warmers.
