Ultegra 6700 Crankset Color

I got my 6700 crankset 53/39 today, I was expecting something like chrome silver color.
but the crankset I got is dark gray.

Does Ultegra crankset come in 2 different color ( dark gray or silver)?
The 6600 is in silver, and I really like how it looks.

There will be an Ice Grey coming out similar to what the 6600 series had but the new 6700 for now is like a brushed silver finish. 6600 and 7800 had the shiny chrome look.

personal taste...
I think it's Shimano's compromise between shiny and black...
certainly way better than the Red anodizing I now see of wheels/hubs and other bling, especially the off-brand stuff comin from the Orient...
I get the recurring 'Trixie the Fixie' rash from that stuff... almost as bad as saddle sores... or a poke in the eye

ya. anodizing is ugly, too.

Just ride it - you'll like it.

It's not like you're staring at your crankset all the time while riding?

Right?

I've recently bought the ice grey 6601 in a clearance sale and really like it because it perfectly complements the grey/black carbon of the bike.

I'm thinking of it in terms of being put on Ti bike. I'm sure it'll look fine on a black/carbon/white frame. Just not silver on a different color silver. I'm not really in love with the shape of the spider, either. The DA looks clover-like and the Ultegra looks a little bit space-agey to me. But that's just me.

Sorry to disappoint, guys.

I have both and think they are very sexy...

I think it looks good on my carbon team bike...

Yep, me likey

To me 6600 looks minimalist and 6700 crank looks bulky and heavy.

Does look heavy, but it is lighter than the 6650 by 106g.

Terror_in_pink 06-07-11 11:14 PM

looks good on that bike! Just don't think it will go with my Ti frame.
