Addiction addicts ----- Carry on.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In the last 6 days I've commuted to work I've gotten 4 flats (2 in 1 day). One of which was after I broke down and lined my tires with mr tuffy tire liners and had the LBS look everything over.

WTF!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!

Suffice it to say, I'm driving to work tomorrow.

What is even more fiscally pathetic than the NY Mets?

Pro Cycling of course.

I would have sold the team bus myself.

I told Garmin Cervelo to sell their team bus on their FB page.

I didn't ride into work today but I did take the dog for a ride on the mtn bike. I'm sick of looking at my road bike. All I see is hissing air and greasy hands.

Slow day at work today. I'm taking advantage of this opportunity to repair my broken carbon bottle cage. Oh the smell of curing resin.

I flatted once over the weekend. Of course I was going a dirt/gravel road climb on a road bike so can't complain too much.

I flatted twice, broke a bottle cage, and the rain made my BB creak yet again. I feel twobadfishy's pain. Not to mention my legs are really tired. So I am taking a much needed rest day today. I can't wait to get my rain bike operational again. I bought a 27g Thompson seatpost collar to make sure it never breaks again.

I outfitted the Addict with the Zipp 404 Ptap wheel today. Nice setup. Tells me how many Joules I'm killing with each pedal stroke.

I would be interested in knowing if you ride as hard as you BF. Are you on Strava?

I don't know what Strava is, but I get Fred Goosebumps just imagining. I'm starting to ride harder. 300+ watt 2 minute intervals today. Those sucked.

The monthly fee of Strava keeps the Freds away. OCPs only.

I can't see my best two minute from yesterday, only have 1 minute (423) and 5 minute (296) from yesterday. I was riding with a buddy of mine that hasn't been riding much so there were no real hard efforts. He is one of the guys that babied me when I was getting back on the bike so I will do as many easyish rides with him as necessary to get him back.

What pisses me off is that even though he is out of shape his max wattage is still over 1,400 watts. My max is 1,291.

Too Late.

52 Miles. Sunny, temps around 75 to start and 80 at the end. Fairly low humidity. Course had lots of rollers and fun technical turns.

There were only 5 of us but we had a blast!

I couldn't hit 1200 watts unless somebody ran a line from Indian Point up my fat bunghole.

That "Pro Team Jersey" thread is begging for a parody thread. I await inspiration...maybe something about pro team condoms?

Maybe not.

In a similar vein, I just saw that thread entitled "Show me your COCKPIT" and it makes me want to post one saying "Show me your COCKpit" but that also won't see the light of day.
