Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

what do you hit?

Also next time you do the Route 29 TT let me know, I can give you someone to beat.

And do you understand a NJ TT cup event taking place in NY ( the tuxedo TT)?

That's your answer right there - I can just get my fat ass over the pedals and let gravity get me to 1400+.

Side note, today was only my second ride since my boy was born, 8 weeks ago. Not riding for so long sucks. Riding after such a long time off sucks almost as much.

I didn't see the Tuxedo TT, what date is that, that's 20 minutes from here, I'll do that one. I'm doing that Rt. 29 TT in late August, in a few weeks, the next one. After you humiliate me we can go for coffee and you can seek BF Papal Forgiveness.

Yep, I'll do that Long Meadow TT in Tuxedo, really didn't see that on Bike Reg. I'll have to get over there on the TT bike and ride it. Goes from the old I. Paper offices down to the light @ the T and back around right?

After my doctor blows this massive wad of ear wax out of my right ear tomorrow I will be sure to post photos of same in this space. Don't say I didn't warn you. In the meantime I won't hear you yelling at me, so don't bother.

Hey, come to think of it, the inability to hear yelling makes this the perfect time to go do a Road Nazi ride.

Tuxedo is too far. I would travel to rt 29 though for my first ever TT. You better beat me on a P3 compared to my clip-on backup machine. I won't be able to make the AUG date I will be on vacation in CO. the sept one is a possibility.

The minute the reality of facing Pcad's Mighty Guads in a TT Throwdown sinks in, they run like rats from a sinking ship and start with the elaborate excuses about why they won't show up for the race.

Nice KOM...you need others to ride the hill so they can be envious of you.

the strava users in this area break down most of the group rides into segments so we have KOMs even though everything is flat.

my ride https://app.strava.com/rides/1021788#

1 min - 473
2 min - 413
5 min - 338
10 min - 283
20 min - 262

we seem pretty close to being power twins, your 9 min hill helped your out for your 10 min number (ralative to my group ride with coasting), now that I have the ptap I really wish I had hills.

We were pretty close but unfortunately my power to weight ratio still sucks. If I can get my weight down and keep my current power I will be content. I need to do a threshold test soon but I can't seem to get my legs fresh enough to do it.

It's Brauer with an 'r' (as in the most famous friggin record producer in NY who works with acts like Coldplay and J. Mayer) and last year we sponsored a crit in September on a Sunday on the Rockleigh course (northern Bergen County NJ, I'm not sure they'll let heckler in without a visa, I'm grandfathered in because I'm old and I grew up down there).

that could be why we don't know who he is. Those two musical acts suck.
