SPEEDPLAY Compatability??

So Speedplay claims that the cleats for each of their road pedal systems are mutually exclusive to that system and are not compatible with any other pedals, but has anyone actually tried to engage say a Zero cleat on an X2 series pedal?

I'm just curious to hear what anyone's personal experience is with this. I have noticed that the Light Action cleats appear to be the same as the Zeros without the adjustment bolts for the float and all pedals seem to have a similar shape and engagement method.

Any experience?

The X series is it's own cleat. Zero and Light action are interchangeable (Although speedplay will tell you they are not). The cleat is what makes it a ZERO vs. LA.

That's what I thought based on a visual inspection.

the light actions do not have adjustable float; the zeros do

I have Zero and Light Action pedals and can confirm they are completely interchangeable.
