Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

13.25 mile ride down to the James River, out 'n back from home. 15.4 mph speed (avg) and 51:33 time.

Here's my '85 Fuji Del Rey along the Huguenot Bridge, overlooking the James River.

Ah... Brings back a memory of the one and only out-and-back Nassau County LIE service road ride I did with some club.

Nice pics!
Sadly, Suffolk is starting to look more like Nassau these days, than Nassau!

I remember when my dad took a job at Rt 110 and the LIE back in the early 60's. It was the only multi story building with cows grazing next to it.

Nassau has many rural spots, you just have to know where to find them.
