Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Forgot to post this last month when I was down in SoCal. My buddy lent me one if his bikes when we went for a nice coastal ride. This is by Sunset Beach:

Can't see the water too much, but this is up at Mirror Lake in Yosemite in the spring. Using a road bike just to bum around in the Valley wasn't the best idea haha.

I enjoy this thread and others that include photos. I'm curious as to why so many BF members include NO information as to locale in their profile. I can see omitting street address or similar, but state, province, heck even country might be useful.

Put some armadillos on my Contend 1 and hit the Katy Trail to see how it held up on a gravel path. This is in St. Charles, MO. This is actually on an old barge that they have paved and permanently docked with a bridge leading to it. I did about 20 miles of the trail before taking the road back home and the bike held up great.
