Handlebar end plugs...

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Handlebar end plugs...

Anybody use the handlebar end plugs with L.E.D. lights in them?

I just lost one of my plugs (yay! just like my skewer nut, I have an excuse to buy a nicer set!).

I'm either going with carbon plugs or I was thinking of trying the LED plugs for my FSA K-Wing Compact.

I've used them. I'm sure my big butt blocks them from being seen anyway, but I figure, "Can't hurt". They also don't give off much light. I've moved to two taillights: one on my seatpost, one on my seat stay (traffic side).

A guy on one of the group rides I do has those. They are so dim that they're useless.

If you want a light, just get a light.

Carbon plugs are also just the regular plastic ones with carbon glued on top.

I got some sweet carbon fiber bar end plugs on Friday, I instantly felt 2mph faster.

Not really, they do look cool though. And only $1 at the bike shop, I couldn't resist. In the looks department, it's the little touches sometimes that make the most difference.

Purely Custom also makes them out of aluminum anodized to custom colors, also engraved with some basic designs or with your initials. Then add your matching anodized headset spacers & top-caps, valve stem covers, cable ends, screws, etc. They'll anodize any of the little aluminum bits for you, it just depends on how fredly you want to be.

No LEDs, but https://www.purelycustom.com/c-81-han...-end-caps.aspx have lots of designs including these overly blingy things:
