Time for a new bike?!?!

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Time for a new bike?!?!

So i'm selling my felt because it is too small for me. its a 158, need a 160 or 161. What bike would you suggest for around the 3000 budget. I'm 185 pounds, love climbing mountains, and hauling on make belief time trials. I've been looking at some Cervelo's like the S2 and RS. any suggestions from other companies? What are your thoughts? Thanks for the help!

Go to Chapter's and buy a buyer's guide. Start there. For $3K, your options are pretty much endless. Especially if you're going to custom match frame/groupo/wheelset.

Personally, I'd opt for something less common - Merckx, Time, Look, Wilier.

Yea its hard to find local shops that sell these bikes though. Also i had red components on my last bike and love them so i'm going to have to go with sram again.

Wow, just test road a cervelo s2 w/ ultegra. that thing is fast! really makes you wanna give'r. I'm thinking i will probably go with rival on it. And maybe eventually upgrade to red or force. But from what i hear rival is the same thing as red and force just that red and force are lighter.

yea some shop i got fitted at before told me i needed a 161, but i went to another shop and they actually know there stuff (the other shop is a joke, claim to be professional but they definitely are not) and they told me i would be able to pull of a 158 on the cervelo because it has a different geometry. also how much do you think my 2009 felt z25 is worth, bought in early 2010 for $2700. put only a couple thousand kms on it.

I think you mean 61 cm, not 161. 161 cm is 5'3" in imperial measurements. I don't think even Yao Ming rides a 161cm frame.

Any thought to selling the frame, keep the components and wheels, and buy a frame that fits?
