Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was suffering from a life threatening illness when I started cycling. I still managed to make improvements and drop 20 lbs before going under the knife to repair the problem. I am faster now and weight less but I still suck at hill climbing.

That means you're still at least 10 lbs. too heavy.

When people who haven't seen you in a while take one glance at you and then reach for their cell phones to dial 911, you're close.

I was too heavy to be competitive until I got a life threatening illness. 15lbs later the hills seem so easy!

I am more like a mule than a race horse, I can climb anything just really slow. Hopefully, I drop another 15 or 20 pounds and I will start feeling like a race horse and be able to pass people on climbs.

It is sad that so many people are overweight that ones at a healthy weight are deemed abnormal.

^^This.... I am by no means too thin .I am 6 1 and 175lbs, I am still waaay too fat for this sport. I could easily lose another 15lbs.late night Ben+Jerry's will never let this happen.

With Ben & Jerry's new flavor, soon you'll be licking their Schweddy Balls.

Too many factors to say X pounds. But BF% is a good judge.

I just had to go to Ben & Jerry's site and peruse their new flavors. Now I am drooling all over my keyboard. I can see a store run in my soon to be future.

Right, and anything over 8% is unhealthy on BF. I'm somewhere around 12-14% body fat.

Maybe I can get a show on TLC.
