2007 Trek 1100 SL vs. 2005 Giant OCR 3

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2007 Trek 1100 SL vs. 2005 Giant OCR 3

Hello everyone,

My first road bike, a '93 Trek 1100, just got a bill that is much larger than it is worth so I am looking for a new bike.

I found these two bikes on craigslist, and was wondering what you guys that about them for the price. For the Trek they are asking $400 and the Giant is $500.

specs from Trek: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2007/archive/1000

specs from Giant: http://archive.giant-bicycles.com/us...05&model=11027

Thanks for your help.

OCR 3 is a ripoff. Trek may be better at ~$300-350

Yeah I did some research about OCR 3's and realized that it was set at a price way too high, would getting it at 350 be better or just not bother?

Don't bother. I bought a 2006 OCR 3 as my first road bike used off of Craigslist for $300. And this was years ago.
