What are the Differences Between 2011 Rival/Force/Red?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What are the Differences Between 2011 Rival/Force/Red?

I'm using 1st gen. Rival and people tell me the throw for the big ring is cumbersome (same for rear?).

Just curious what I can expect if I upgrade any of my 1st gen. Rival to current SRAM products.

Red - more carbon/Ti. Ti FD cage. Zeroloss in both shifters.
Force - more carbon/Mg. Pretty much the same as rival.

I have the newer Rival with the CF brifter levers, and my throw from the little ring to the big ring is not cumbersome at all. Shifts better than the 105 I used to ride. The cassette shifts are clockwork, up and down.

If you go to Sram's website it list all the differences. It's quite simple to figure out.

I think functionally they are the same, just weight.

I've heard from others that SRAMs are not as smooth as Shimano's but who knows? Saw the double tap system in action for the first time the other day, I have no idea what mechanic genius thought of that system.

I'll give this a shot.

Rival is better than Dura Ace.

Force is a lot better than Dura Ace.

Red is the best group ever!

negligible but each higher end shifter strokes the ego faster, with less effort.
