Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hahaha! I'm scared to cross the bridge with my trailer because it's pretty wide. Managed to tag a stanchion with the fork as it is.

I might put my cruiser bars on it. Time will tell. I need to get shifters, grips, cables, seatpost, cranks and BB for her. Probably wont do much work on it 'til winter settles in.

It's a rainy day and a pair of cyclists just passed by on fully-loaded touring rigs. Nice-looking set ups.

I got lost on my ride this afternoon. I came upon a group of 3 guys on touring rigs wearing lotsa Patagonia, no helmets and sporting some signs announcing their discontent with the World Bank or something. I asked them for some directions to get back to the main road and got a bunch of heavily accented (French I think) crap about the evils of the Obama administration, Wall Street and the banking system. Entertaining, but not very helpful.

I did find my way back just before the rain started.

"Running" this morning; hill repeats out back with the puppy. No danger of me entering any triathlons or 10K runs, but the puppy is sleeping now so mission accomplished.

Didn't get out until almost 6pm today, so I did my favorite 20 mile loop around Cazenovia Lake.

Hey, my brother had a Free Spirit in the 70s. Mine was an AMF Roadmaster. It was probably crap, but I rode the hell out of it.

September 1st. Will Velo Vol end his month-long absence from the forum?

What has become of coasting; laid up after a folding bike mishap?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Passed three riders while out. No waving.

Exchanged nods with two. The third was on his aero bars descending the hill I was climing; we were both too busy to acknowledge each other.

No waves?

I'm about to roll out. Hopefully lots of waving goes down. Here's a pic from the other night. I love non drive side low light cell phone pics.

Looking good Lester.

I did say "hi" to a couple of pedestrians that I passed on a country lane.
