Colnago Gran Fondo Washington DC 2011

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First I've heard of it, and I live here. Based on google, looks like they announced it last Fall and then never gave any follow up?

On a related note and not meant to be a hijack...

I saw a Gran Fondo New York jersey today. I remember when that was a topic here on BF and it looked problematic at best. I assume it came off?

They used to have it listed as one of their rides this year... but it was pulled from the list on the official website months ago. If I recall correctly, it was supposed to occur in mid-September, between the Philly and Miami. Am guessing it isn't going to happen this year -- I had wanted to give it a shot.
