Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have white SRAM hoods on my Madone and so far, they haven't caused the collapse of western civilization.

I'm running white with white on my race bike and I haven't had an issue with them looking dirty. I usually hit them with a baby wipe after a race. Keeps them clean and smelling oh-so-fresh.

Ohgoodlord, are we running out of stuff to buy when we're down to the color of our hoods? Holy Shimano, next thing you know we'll be complaining about (antiquated) shifter cables and valve nuts.

...although if there were to be a chessboard design hood, I'd totally buy it.

Depends on the bike - I'm partial to gold/tan

(Yes, I've cut the extra steer tube since this photo)

Nobody cares about the way you feel about certain hoods, unless you start pulling people over for any other reason than just because you think they don't belong there

It's not a problem. I use Fizik tape and have the white hoods for Sram Red.

i'll probably try Fizik tape, my wife's bike has some cheap/generic white "cork" tape and it gets dirty easy and doesn't clean very well.. i've heard the Fizik tape is fairly easy to clean
