Trouble with new shoes

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trouble with new shoes

I just bought my first set of shoes with recessed cleats, and they are for both mtb & rb. So basicly has extra rubber on the bottom for traction. I only ride a road bike. Don't like the cleats stammering around on the ground like horse so that's why I got these. Anyway it seems the extra rubber on the bottom are inhibiting my dismount. Are there certain cleats needed for this? Pedals? Im thinking they arnt going to work.

Please clarify the pedal system you are referring to.

SPD?

Well, dude.

I personally have no experience with the SPD pedals or shoes. I'm a Look user. I don't walk more than a few feet usually in them so I'm no help here.

Tell you what. Try the Mountain Bike forum. Those guys probably have way more users of this system than here.

Good Luck.

That shouldn't be a problematic combination. Have you used these cleats/pedals with other shoes succesfully?

Thx guys...I figured it out. I have this obsession with assembly w/o instructions. Add some vino into the equation, just overlooked the direction of the cleat. I checked the instructions this mornin and corrected it. These are my first pair of clipless shoes. What a differance! Had a great ride this morning without a problem at all getting in/out. Love em, plus they are walkable! Thx again.
