Carbon fork bikes from BD

Hi guys, I was hoping to get some insight on the BD bikes. I mountain bike regularly and bought my bike from a LBS and I understand difference in a good bike and a big box bike, but I have never had any experience with BD bikes. I had never road biked until last week, and that was on my mountain bike. I like the idea of being able to hop on my bike and ride with out having to drive down to our local trails but I am not wanting to invest $1500+ quite yet. So.....I was looking at BD and particularly the carbon fork bikes around $400. Has anyone had any dealings with these? Or should I just spend the extra few hundred and get an entry level LBS bike? Thanks.

BD has been good for me, i got a Motobecane HT 600 (its not carbon forks) and it has been a good buy ,i ride ever weekend at the trails and around the hood with the kids not falling apart, when you buy from BD you need t know how work on your bike as you have to assembale and tune them..got the bike back in november 2010
