They have been instructed to bury that with me, and to carve 'Cat IV' and 'cholesterol is great, 167' on my tombstone.

Ale_z 07-13-11 09:44 AM

I have a question, though. Do your replies count for the 300 total? Because if they do, you'll be there by last Sunday. Just sayin'.

patentcad 07-13-11 09:50 AM

Please note that since this is a weight loss thread without weigh-ins, it is essentially a thread about Nothing.

If I follow your logic--and I use the term loosely--you're saying that skinniness is a state of mind?

In your case perhaps. For me it is imminent in a very real and physical sense. I may even post photos. Depends on how much play this stupid thread manages to get.

Seinfeld made a fortune with a show about that.

I work in a piping products testing lab and have a handy floor scale (that's even callibrated to ISO 17025) and weight myself after long rides or the day after a hard workout. Sometimes I haven't eaten or drank enough and don't realize it until I hop on the scale. It's good for keeping after things like that, I find.

If you can't remember to eat and drink, I think you need more than a scale...

My heaviest weigh-in ever was 17 pounds lighter than you are, Pope Tubby I.

But congratulations on foregoing that second donut for lunch.

cato_mcfly 07-13-11 11:28 AM

While I weigh myself every week, I don't pay attention to the weight number. My scale has a body fat monitor which I do track. I don't think it is that accurate, but it seems to be fairly precise based on my weekly measurements.

http://www.amazon.com/Omron-Full-Sen.../dp/B0020MMCDE

I bought it after being frustrated when I needed to get new pants with bigger waist after I really started cycling. I believe my muscles made the hips too tight, but it was a bit worrisome. I seem to be losing 0.5% body fat per month while maintaining a constant weight. Not a quick improvement, but I am getting quite stronger.

...now if my wife would quit it with her recent indulgence in baking... :-)
