Williams 30X vs. Mavic Kysrium Elite
I already destroyed the Mavic CXP-22 rear wheel that came with the Felt Z5 I bought a month ago. The LBS where I bought it is replacing it under warranty, but the wheel won't be in for another week so they put a loaner Bontrager on it in the meantime. The wrench insisted I must have crashed or fallen, said he'd seen wheels that had been run over that were in better shape, lol. But after assuring him I'd neither crashed nor fallen, he decided it probably had some loose spokes when I bought it and went out of true quickly, and then just got worse as I continued to ride.
Anyway, I'm probably going to upgrade in the next month. I got a lot of suggestions in an earlier thread, and at this point I'm leaning toward either a Williams 30X set or a pair of Mavic Kysrium Elites.
I currently weigh 245 (down from 270 at the beginning of May), and expect to get to my normal weight of 210 by the end of the summer. The Williams set is explicitly spec'd for a max weight of 225, and advertised as bombproof at up to that weight. I just want the best option as far as staying true. I ride mostly back roads in the country, many of which are chip seal in bad repair.
I hear a lot of great things about the Kysriums being bombproof, but mostly from guys who weigh 180 lbs. or less.
I don't care that the Williams set is roughly 100 grams heavier than the Mavics. Conversely, I don't care all that much that the Mavics are a bit more expensive.
Opinions?

The Ks will br bombproof. Although I am one of those under 180 folks, I thrash pretty hard in a sprint, and the Ks hold their place between the brake pads. No wobble whatsoever.
