WoW Burned Nipples

Yeah I have read about it but have never experienced it. No new Jersey or anything have ridden many more miles at one time than today but today I got it. I don't know if the heat and humidity being more sweaty was enough to add weight or what but it is kind of painful.

LowCel 07-16-11 01:42 PM

Yes, it sucks! I was dealing with it towards the beginning of the spring season, luckily my nipps have htfu and they quit bothering me.

OP: please post pics of your nipples. Thanks. :D

This is the problem I have with bibs. I can't even wear them without a base layer without nipple pain from my Assos bibs on any ride longer than 1 hour. I am 5'10" and weigh 158 lb with a small upper body so it is not like I am fat. I won't buy any more bibs because of this.

bandaids

I didn't have my bibs on today. Hmm wonder I'd I would have if I would have had trouble??

And I opened this thread thinking I'd learn something new about wheel building.:(

+1

Burned? Maybe chapped?

andrewluke 07-16-11 05:51 PM

I had it happen a few times but since my crash I wear a baselayer and have never had an issue since. The super tight underarmour sleeveless tops work nicely and wick the sweat away well.

kenji666 07-16-11 05:54 PM

Try wearing pasties next time.

I thought it was gonna be about World of Warcraft :)

I get chaffed nips once in a while. Only when wearing synthetic fibers, though. Seems like some runners do wear some form of pasties to combat it.

ErichM 07-16-11 07:17 PM

You know, just today I had some nipple pain, rarely happens to me. Some days my nipples are just a bit sensitive I guess. Anyway, physically they are fine, just over stimulated. I think they'll be fine tomorrow, just need some R&R.

glrnns280 07-16-11 07:24 PM

Try surfing for 8hrs u will get scabs on ur nipolians...no joke

Tundra_Man 07-16-11 09:08 PM

Go to a good sporting goods store and ask for "Body Glide". It comes in a stick like deodorant. You apply it on in places that rub and it makes a world of difference. I use it during triathlons on my nipples, where the zipper on my tri-suit rubs and around my ankle where the timing chip sits.

Damn. I wish I'd known about that when I used to do a lot of running. I would get friction burns between my thighs, and if I wore a tank top, I would also get them under my arms.

matroskin 07-16-11 09:36 PM

I thought you are talking about the computer game: World of Warcraft: Burned nipples

surgeonstone 07-16-11 10:33 PM

The best thing to use is a Dr. Scholls bunion pad, a little foam oval pad with the center cut out. Stick these on and no problems.

And hope you don't have an accident and end up in ER where the staff will be in hysterics.

CHAS 07-17-11 05:45 AM

Janet Jackson could probably show you what to wear to prevent that.

chibibike 07-17-11 09:48 AM

that only happened to me once when i didn't wear a bra but i usually always wear a sports bra

Would chamois cream work also? I wear a Performance soft baselayer so no problems here. But, I may try the cream just to find out. I'm guessin' it would be as good if not better than Body Glide.

K&K_Dad 07-17-11 02:26 PM

anything that prevents the friction. For all intents and purpose you could use peanut butter if you wanted to. A lot of people also use vasoline. A tight fitting base layer is probably the best way to go. Less goop, less hair pullage if you've got that kinda chest.
