Success - Rival Mid-cage and 11-34 cassette

A few weeks ago, I posted a question about the capacity limits of the Rival mid-cage cassettes, but I didn't get any good answers. So, I thought that I would report back on my experiment.

My new bike came with Rival short cage RD and a 11-28 cassette. Since the hills are pretty steep around here (15-20%), I switched it out to a Rival Mid-cage RD and a 11-32 SRAM cassette.

I still missed the 34 cog that I used on my old bike ( a Deore XT MTB RD), so I tried moving this IRD 11-34 cassette to the new bike. The Rival mid-cage RD is supposedly limited to a 32 cog, but it seems to shift fine with a 34. It just took a longer chain and a couple of complete 360 degree turns of the b screw.
