Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

OK, I'm sick and in serious need of mental assistance. I was just watching the Nissan Leaf commercial and had a brief thought that I'm going to miss some of these commercials. Perhaps I'm beyond repair.

In addition, I can't help it, but I still find the Geico commercial where the guys are doing the dumbest **** with their phones to be oddly humorous.

If I absolutely had to pick one, I'd have to go with the Bobke Road ID ads...they were pretty funny and low key. Basically though....every other commercial was just damn horrible. I want to nuke the world of Izod and kill whomever thought up any and all of those damn Michelob Ultra ads.

It was clever until you consider that over half of the electrical power in the US is generated by coal power plants. So an all electric Nissan is arguably really running on coal power. I guess a flashy commercial highlighting a coal power plant powering a new Nissan isn't the meme they wanted to promote.

My dog heard that cat burglar meow and started watching that ad with the dog guarding his stuff so that was cool.

The Chris Horner one was good as were the Bobke commercials.

But they all got old after three weeks so i was glad I had the DVR.

2011 was, and is the year of the Bobke RoadID commercials! All others were fast forwarded with extreme prejudice!

The IZOD ads were the most annoying by a huge margin. I'm never buying anything IZOD ever, stupid f*ckfaces. After that, the Michelob Ultra ads, and 3rd place goes to the Cadillac sedan one with the uber manly seriouso voiceovers. McDonalds tropical smoothies or whatever those were gets the hon. mention.

Best ads - anything to do with cycling gear

Almost forgot - I hate the I just want to be okay, be okay, be okay. I just want to be okay, be okay, be okay song. Oh and the mapmyride ads sucked too. Yay.

ah, so I take it you do have a large solar array out back, or up top, and are generating into the power grid.

It's going to take some time but we are moving toward solar/wind/geo-thermal/etc. The problem is not with Nissan, they are headed the right way. Do you suggest we should wait on electric cars until the coal (and other non-renewable) electric generating problems are in the past?

I think it might of been Dish Network only, because a few friends didn't see them but the Visa Black one by far (although it did get a little old the 100th time). Hot model, motorcycle, helicopter, etc...

I seemed like they played the same three commercials at every break. Michelob, IZOD and that dog commercial. The bob roll ads were good as was the big wheel. Kudos to Michelob for beating me into submission: I bought some Ultra 64. It's not really beer, but if you drink it very cold it is close to beer. Plus it's 90 calories per bottle.

The problem with this argument is that while they still burn fossil fuels, coal and oil power plants convert that fuel to useful energy at much much greater efficiency, where as a internal combustion engine may waste 80%+ as heat.

Anyway, my favorites were the Bobke series, mainly because they kept developing/expanding on them and it wasn't just the same thing over and over. The Saucony ones were ok too. I will never purchase anything from IZOD or Weezer as long as I live.
