Been a bit over a year....

since I have really ridden my bicycle. I was watching this years TdF coverage and it gave me a yearning to be back on it again.
I had quit riding after having some issues with my prosthesis rubbing me in some bad spots. I sure do miss the fit I was in then....lol, this little hill in my neighborhood is laughing at me. Oh well, gotta get back into the groove and meet back up with some of the weekly group rides.
See y'all on the road....sweating....

Welcome back.

Hope you don't try to be so fast this time.
Go slow have fun.

Too Hot for me right now.

Thanks brother, your advice was wonderful the last time especially in regards to what to eat before heading out to the road for a spin. The last couple of days I have been back I am also doing the "5 mile" method you taught me and not being concerned about average speed or anything. Just getting the miles.
It is super stupid hot here too. I have been waiting until after 7 in the evening to ride. I am going to have to break down and get up early so I can get out of the neighborhood though. I just won't ride the streets around here after work gets out of on the weekends.

I like the real early rides 5 AM till about 10 AM.
I have good lights so that is not a problem for me.

Some of the riders do a every other day ride.
That gives your body a chance to recover.
Might work for you?

Would you be so kind as to share the 5 mile method?

I'm about to start riding again and would love a program to get reacclimated.

Glad you're riding again. Welcome back.

Awesome to see you back :) Cycle_on, my brudda.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I am going to take it a bit slower, and not be so concerned about making or being a part of group rides this time. It occured to me, looking back on what led to me stopping riding, was simply pushing too hard, injuring myself and being physically burned out.

Take it easy on your rides and remember the joy you had as a kid when riding was just for fun and to get to cool places.

Welcome back to the road. Go find some routes with good descents, that always brings a smile to my face when I've been away from cycling.

Good to read from you again. I still remember the one post when you did an accidental round house kick with your prosthesis, and knocked the guy (who was trying to run you over) down.
