Which Frame size ?
 

I am looking into buying a new road bike. I am going to go get fitted later this week, but i just wanted some opinions and experience. I am 5' 11" and have an inseam of 33" so I am guessing I need a 54 to 58 cm frame. Is 54 too small for me ?

I'm 6' with a 32 inseam and 56cm fits me best.

a tip....if you fit between sizes go with the smaller of the two. believe me i bought a 54, and while it was comfortable i couldn't achieve an aggressive enough position once i started craving speed. Now im riding a 52 and its been a wonderful enlightenment!

I'm 6'2" and ride a 61. I had a 58 and it was too small for me. Having said that, there's more than height that goes into choosing a frame size. Someone with short legs and a long torso will need to take that into account, as will someone with long legs and a short torso.

I am 5'9" with a 32" inseam, according to the lbs, im all legs, and they almost wanted me to get a 56. i chose the 54 due to price(new 2010 vs new 2011), and havent looked back. although my seat is really high looking, its just above the handlebars like everyone elses here. while i cant tell you to rule out the 54 or the 58, i think the 56 will fit you best since youre slightly taller with slightly taller legs too.

im no expert, so get a comfy bike, get it fitted, and ride!

I find the top tube length be a bigger factory over the seat tube length. If it has a 56cm top tube I'm golden. But a good bike fit is still you best option.

I'm 5' 11" with a 34" inseam, and I ride between a 54cm to 56.5cm, depending on make and model. Not all bikes of the same size fit the same. For example, not all 56.5cm bikes fit the same, not even if they all are theoretically "road bikes". Each manufacturer build their frames with some criteria in mind. Highly recommend that you take your time making sure the bike not only fits, but fits comfortably to you. Remember you will very likely need to consider different stem, handlebar positioning, and saddle. The key is comfort. If you don't look forward to getting on your saddle and riding your bike... then you most likely will not. Ask yourself... would you look forward to being on the bike you are considering purchasing for two hours at a time?
