Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Elite Ailments

I had a Pulmonary Embolism just like Chris Horner back in May/June. Clearly this is an ailment that impacts elite cyclists like Horner and myself.

Discuss.

His description of the symptoms is accurate, but I did not have any pronounced shortness of breath myself, just sharp upper abdominal pain. I attribute this to my superior Fred Lung Capacity developed during hundreds of High Average Speed Training Sessions.

It's not what's gone to his head that requires a proctologist...it's where his head is...

It is sorta contrary to what I think of as the usual source of this truly serious condition. I have always thought that non activity like long flights could trigger embolisms.

Maybe it's from the EPO.

So, are you running that orange flag?

Pcad does not engage in blood doping or PED abuse, and I have the race results to prove this.

OK. At least that is a more straight forward answer than some pros (who shall remain nameless like Lance Armstrong) have given.

But are you riding with an orange flag? This seems to me to be the HEIGHT of Fredly accessories and the start of the slippery slope to riding recumbent.

BTW, traditionally the "elite ailment" up until about 100 years ago was gout.

Delusions of grandeur. Nothing new to the 41.

...and dude, gout sucks hard. Thank God I only had the kind that goes away when you stop eating/drinking too much of something.

Even guys like Merckx and Lemond got a bit chubby. I guess that I'm in elite company as well.

It's not a question on this thread. It's a BF Papal Edict.
