Good buy for a full carbon Bianchi?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good buy for a full carbon Bianchi?

Hi everyone, I was just browsing craigslist and came upon this. 2006 928 Carbon Bianchi w/10 speed Veloce for $850. I know you should be wary when purchasing used carbon bikes, but assuming there are no structural flaws is this a good buy? Here's a link to Bianchi's page on it.

That seems like a great price assuming it's in good condition. If it looks like it needs a new chain and/or cassette, make sure you consider that. The replacement parts are a little more expensive than Shimano/SRAM.

If in good condition, it's a good deal. If trashed, it's a lousy deal. It's worth going to have a look, (and be sure to ride it too).

That's my "good" bike. It's worth a good bit more than that.

If I could get that bike for that price and it was my size and was in good condition I would risk divorce to have a spare.

+100. I say scam. I e-mailed a guy a few years ago in Dallas that had a Litespeed for cheap and got back all the instructions on how to use money orders and how it would be shipped to an agent and how they wouldn't even get the money until I had inspected it, blah, blah, blah, blah...

Well that's certainly a good word in for it! How much/when did you buy your bike?

I bought in 2008, it had been hanging for a couple of years at an LBS, so I bought it as NOS for $2100. IIRC they had a list on it of $2650.

Here's the specs from bikepedia: http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...loce&Type=bike
