Need new wheels. Suggestions please for a 200lbs rider
Have been thinking of upgrading the stock Fulcrum Racing 7s' that came with the bike. I'm 200 lbs and 6.4 (not that hight matters. Just FYI). I'm not racing but can hold my own when people take a run at me. I try to ride as much as work and family allows and would like to buy something that is good but not bleeding edge due to the Texas gates we have around here. And CF would be "cool" but indefencable to the BOSS! Any suggestions are appreciated.

Rather than upgrade, ride up grade to get better. E. Mercx That said, you live in Texas, so not much in the way of hills to work on. How about some Racing 3 wheels if you like Fulcrum.

It sounds like your current wheels are working well.
I'm partial to custom wheelsets. One set that would be nice is White Industries hubs, XR-270 27mm deep rims, and CX-Ray spokes. With 24f/28r spokes (8 more than your current wheels) the wheels will weigh about 3/4 pounds less than your current wheels. Another options that I would consider better for everyday riding is Velocity A23 rims with 32 spokes/wheel and Ultegra hubs.

Ok so I'm a big proponent of Soul wheels...Sean (owner) does a great job and they are a great value. Here are three options from Soul:
S3.0SL $500 shipped to your door. 30mm alloy clincher. On the order of a full pound lighter than your current wheels and will be more aerodynamic as well. There is a new wide version as well that is a little heavier but they are also a bit more durable and there is the whole wide rims are more aero trend going on (see HED, Mavic, Zipp and others doing this as well).
S4.0 for $520 shipped. 40mm alloy clincher. 10mm deeper for added aero benefit and a bit heavier but still lighter by 100g-200g than the Fulcrum 7. I had these and they are awesome especially at the price. I weighed in around 220 lbs and never had an issue with durability. Have since passed them on to my father who races and I figure they would serve him better than me. He has raced them for 2 years now with no issues.
CA5.0 for $820 shipped. 50mm carbon faring, allow rim wheel. These will be my next wheels. Lighter than the S4.0 by 100g but heavier than the S3.0. 50mm depth and you get your carbon
Sean says he sells a ton of these wheels because of their price point.

i'm 6'3 240lbs and built my own set of 32 hole velocity fusions with circus monkey hubs (yeah, those taiwan ebay hubs) they are holding up great for me, though I don't ride them daily I have put a few hundred issue free miles on them. They weigh in at 1575 grams. You are a lot lighter than me so you could easily go 20/24 or 24/28 and use a lighter rim like a velocity aerohead or perhaps kinlin xr200 up front and maybe an xr 270 for the rear. I got the hubs for $100, spokes were about $50 rims will run you about $80 and then if you can't build yourself, figure $100 for labor. so for about $350 you would have a solid sub-1500 gram wheelset.

November has a wheel pre-order going on right now. I'm looking at the RFSC 38s (https://www.novemberbicycles.com/rfsc-wheelset/). Seem like good wheels at an even better price. So far hearing good things, and the guys at the company are awesome.

Another possibility from https://www.novemberbicycles.com/fsw-23/ is their new wide rim clincher. These just came out, and had they been available a month ago, I'd probably have them on my new bike. We're about the same weight, and the 28/32 spoke set sounds pretty nice at 1520 grams/pair. It's really similar to what valleycyclist recommends above.

Click the link for the CA5.0 in my first post (each wheel is hyperlinked to the product page). You can only buy them direct from Soul as far as I know.

NEUVATIONS? I love mine, I am 205lbs and have had zero problems, 16 spoke front and 20 rear, have stayed perfectly true and seem to roll forever. set the bike upside and spin the wheels, when they finally do stop the valve stem will settle to the bottom, around $250 for the set, great customer service also.
