If I had the freedom to buy, I'd probably just get the frame. Maybe the 6.9 SSL and using the Lead Out Signature frame on the P1, the primary color will be Starry Night Black ,Pearl Carbon as the Tertiary color and Seafoam as a secondary. Then build it in either 3T or FSA cockpit with Ultegras and . Having that customized paint scheme will almost make it look like a Bianchi Sempre Nero. So when roadies see me from far away, they would think that it's a Limited Edition Black Bianchi just to be fooled with a Trek logo.

I'd rather be seen on any road bike instead of being on a mountain bike with my foreams on the handlebar while going against a headwind. People worry so much about what bike brand is better and what they rather be seen on, while all I care about is how I effin' look when I'm on my mtb. I really don't care what I end up having as long as it's comfy and it fits... I JUST WANT MY ROAD BIKE ALREADY!!! Oh why did I even bother getting back into it?

My point was clear. Trek while they may make a good bike is not on the cutting edge any longer. Seemed to have shot their wad under Lance....Nothing sexy and cutting edge has come from them in years.....Not bashing just commenting....Many newer and smaller lesser known companies are making some very attractive stuff....if your a Trek fan I am asking why?
Yeah, actually their high modulus frames are very much cutting edge, as much so as any of the other companies making professional level frames. You just exposed your level of knowledge.
Their three and four series Madone's are very comfortable for sport riders. Most all of them are not looking for high tech, but comfort.
Another BikeForums ThinkTank thread.

So, YES, people very much DO "care" about Trek's.
BTW op, you do realize Levi just won the Tour Of Utah, and the Tour Of California riding a Trek, right? Can ONLY help them gain more visibility. I think the consensus here is, we "get" that you dont like Trek bikes, but that doesn't mean that EVERYONE feels the way YOU do?
In other words, an idiotic waste of bandwidth.

New here. I ride the crap out of my Madone 5.5. I bought it in January and test rode Giant, Specialized, Felt, Cannondale etc. etc. I tested every carbon frame I could and felt the best on the Trek. I got a Guru fit machine fit on Saturday and changed to a more aggressive fit. Now I like my bike even more. I'm riding with SRAM Force and Zipp 101's. I have no problem keeping up in fast groups. Honestly, that's what it's all about isn't it? You can spend $15000 on a bike, but can you keep up? It's all about the dude on the bike. Nobody sweats what bike I'm riding when I pass them!

S Works is in fact operated as a separate brand, which is why some dealers are S Works dealers and some are Specialized dealers. They are owned under the same company, but it's like the difference between Infiniti and Nissan, BMW and MINI, Acura and Honda, Lexus and toyota, Lincoln and Ford, Cadillac and Chevrolet, Hyundai and Kia... do I need to keep going?
As far as the Speed Concept and Shiv, yes they are amazing machines. I think you'd have to add the Graal and Time Machine to that same list..

Throw the stick!!!!
Vicelord is close but not exact. Specialized dealers have to do a certain about of business before they can sell S-Works bikes.

This is my bicycle. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My bicycle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my bicycle is useless. Without my bicycle, I am useless. I must ride my bicycle true. I must ride faster than my enemy, who is trying to drop me. I must drop him before he drops me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my bicycle and myself are defenders of the MUP, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen

In my opinion, Trek is like Ford for cars. The Madone is like the Ford Mustang.

I'm sure somone has already pointed this out, but if a person doesn't like the "rolling billboard" concept, there is always a project one option where you can have logos as minimalist as you want.
And on the "innovation" subject... the bikes may not look too innovative right now, but if you think about it, most brands have been playing catch-up to where Trek was in 2008 and again in 2010. It will be interesting to see what they do next.

I like my 84 Trek very much. Even though I have a steel frame (double butted chromo main triangle, hi-ten stays, aluminum fork) with 105 SPD SIDI cleats and Shimano-Z drive train, I am always surprized that I am able to pass some of the ones on high-priced carbon. Overall I am just happy that so many riders are out there having fun every day.
It really does not matter what the brand is. Theyre pretty much all good, for the amount of riding almost all of us do. What really matters is the fit, the age of the bike, and sometimes specific components for specific needs (such as Di2, brifters, cleats... ect).
As for logos, I did find myself thinking the same thing while looking at new Treks at my LBS this weekend. At the same time, when im riding next to one, or trying to identify the frame as a pedestrian it really helps. Modern Trek logos are not so bad when you compare them to the gaudy 80's "Rudy's Movie Style" Raleigh stickers that were all over my frame.
Overall, if they sold any of the bikes you guys are arguing over under 200-300, that many vintage bikes cost, most people would be excstatic to buy any of them reguardless of brand or specific components.
