Speedplay cleats aft positioning without extension plate vs. Look cleats?

Speedplay cleats aft positioning without extension plate vs. Look cleats?
I've been using the old Look style system but want to move my cleats back farther than the cleats will allow.
I'm thinking about getting speedplays but I'm not sure if the standard speedplay cleats (without extension plates) will allow more aft positioning than the old Look style cleats? I might only need 5mm more in the aft direction. Just trying to figure out now if I'd need to buy the speedplay extension plates to get more aft positioning than the old Look cleats.
