You Shall All Covet The New Addiction

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yep. No reason in particular. Figured I'd give the 808s a try.

I was going to buy this today.....

It only gets like 13 mpg so I'm sticking with the Scion and bought these instead.

I am silly sometimes. I could not help myself tonight. I had to try the new grease in the Zipp wheels. So I just got done re-greasing the hubs. The rear felt a little gritty before. It is smooth as glass now. Both wheels spin forever now. The freewheel is a bit quieter now too, but still not too quiet. Gonna re-grease the Spinergy wheels next, then maybe the Rolfs, and the Chris King BB on the Trek. This grease is simply amazing. I can't wait to try out the 404s with the super lube, in addition to the BB.

Over the winter I want to glue some Vittoria Evo CXes to the 404s, and then purchase those Zipp handle bars DDF got, and an Extralite stem. If that doesn't get the bike under 13lbs, then I am thinking about having my Slovenian friend build me a 1-piece seatpost / saddle, and I'll do a bit of rear derailleur tuning. I won't be riding that bike, much more this year so I guess it is time to start planning the next year. After that I will call it done.

Yeah, but the first one will attract more attention (if that is what you seek)....

I'm sure the fuel economy was the only thing holding you back.

The Brauer race tomorrow will go off, rain or shine. Rain + Cat 4/5 = crashfest. At least there won't be much road rash on a wet surface. I will be there to marshall and witness the carnage.

The part in yellow says "High Performance Demo," so I believe those are special demo stickers.

ESPN Gameday is in Morgantown, WV for the WVU / LSU game today. I'm sure nothing will happen to make us look bad.
