You Shall All Covet The New Addiction

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The basic S5 costs less and is more aerodynamic.

Eff the S3. Good riddance.

That S5 is so fugly they can take the aero and blow it out their friggin Vroomen hole. I love the S2. Best racing bike on the planet.

Looks like this weekend is going to be a washout for cycling, at least in the Northeast.

I think I will have to break out the rollers for the first time since February.

A black closeout S3 would be pretty sweet.

Oh, that's right. Cervelo won't let you buy a closeout frameset anymore. That's dumb.

Next year Pcad will get a S5 and tell us how great it, just like Di2 and the appliance he now calls a car.

next time some idiot says bike weight doesn't matter, I will present them with this:

"Christian Vande Velde was one of three Garmin-Cervélo riders on a trick road-time trial hybrid setup. According to team mechanic Geoff Brown, this arrangement provided nearly the same position as on his time trial bike but an unusually light sub-7kg weight that was perfect for the run up Vail Pass."

He got second to Levi, by a few hundredths on that stage.

What did we do to deserve this chaos?! Some sack a steel bike quick and it might appease the Angry Gawds. I really do not want to be riding indoors for hours on end with no tv entertainment.

I was at the first switch back of independence pass and it was pretty cool...the place is basically in the middle of nowhere (I have been camping out in twin lakes all week) with small populations in miniscule towns nearby, but literally thousands of cyclists rode up over the course of about 6 hours. My wife and I drove as far as we could then walked about 6 miles (the 3 back in the rain) and it was really cool to see the bikes just taking over the road.

of course now there is some dumb hurricane on the east coast and my wife and I are trapped in CO. Our flight was Sun, we tried to beat the storm by moving it up to sat, but then that was canceled, now we are tentatively on monday afternoon (landing in philly around 11 pm monday, we hope) the rental car of course needs to be back on sat or sunday so we will be held hostage at the quality inn near the airport. If anyone has a private jet and wants to help someone out PM me.

Are you sure you are not a politician? That was We have a local TT loop, where the first 6 miles is uphill, then gradual downhill back 4 miles. I was glad I wasn't on a heavy TT bike when I did it.

There are 4 things I don't like about Team Garmin Cervelo. Those heavy cranksets, the heavy French wheels, ass hatchet Fizik saddles, and no more Speedplay pedals. Okay one more thing, they let Thor go to BMC next year.

Where is everyone today? I acquired a bit of schwag lately. I will soon finally put the rain bike back together, since I recently robbed it of parts to give birth to my cx bike. Which the CX bike, just got a new cassette 1070 11-28, and a Paul Components Chain Watcher. The Cervelo hasn't gotten much love recently. Dammit, I think I reached perfection on that thing. I have been thinking about an 808 rear wheel a bit lately however.
