2004 Specialized Allez

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2004 Specialized Allez

Is this bike worth it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=140594304017

I would be able to pick it up rather than pay shipping also

thanks

Are the bikes on Bikesdirect good? Those deals seem too good to be true

I have seen a lot of people use bikesdirect. and they seem to be a satisfied bunch. It is not for everybody, specially if you have no idea about fit and wrenching your own ride.

While I am OK with bikesdirect, that is not really an answer to OP's question. Obviously, it is "worth" only what it will fetch on the open market - searching ebay history shows a 2005 Allez Sport sold for $625 this month, while a 2000 model went for $560, and a kind-of-strange-looking 2001 went for $325. Several newer ones went for $495-750. It is impossible to predict where exactly this one will fall, but it won't be $399 and will probably be $550 or substantially more.

Actually, it IS an answer to A question that was posted by the OP. English may not be my first language, but I believe the question was not that complicated
