If you could buy any top-end bike today...

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you could buy any top-end bike today...

I would buy what I currently ride: 2009 De Rosa King 3 with SRAM Red and Reynolds DV46C wheels:

I'd get a red crank, tho.

So whatever RD can handle an 11-32. Now the Zero.7 comes with a proprietary FSA SLK 386 crank, so I guess I don't mind an FSA SLK-Light for the Bianchi. And yes, same set up with the Wilier on the cassette and RD. Sorry, but if I had the cash to buy one or both, I'd rather go all-out on being a poser with my 11-32 back.

I like the fact that it has disc brakes, but I am not sure what the limitations are with disc brakes.

LOL! My friend and I had a long discussion on this bike. Here I am wanting to win this thing and here he is totally hammering away on the the disc brakes. All I keep on hearing from him is how ugly it got from being a princess.

Bought it from the LBS this way. Was way over budget so will be riding as is for quite some time. Frame is beautiful and someday I hope to put Campy SR on it, when I can justify the expense.

Hottest bike so far, minus the spacers.

For performance I'd buy a coach.

For leisure I'd buy a supported cycling vacation.

For bike I think I'm ok.

Canyon Ultimate SLX SL or Team as equipped other than swapping out the wheels (can't post a photo as they have a flash site) or Cannondale Synapse Hi-Mod Red though I would wait for the 2012 and add a power meter in the cranks.

My choices aren't as sexy as some of the others but having had back surgery I won't ever be on a top end racing bike.

I think the limitation is that they work all the time and have more stopping power. I'd love to own that bike.

jrstudman81, this thread is about posting your dream bike, components you would choose and possibly a picture, not to decide which one is better. You should start your own thread for that. I'm curious to know what your dream bike is.
