Specialized Elite Touring Shoes First Impressions
 

I was wanting to go with something that was not an MTB shoe, but I really like to get off of my bike and walk. I also like the ease of getting into eggbeater pedals. This shoe is really a best of both worlds for me. The cleat hides under the tread, but it doesn't have the (IMO) dorking looking spikes like my old PI MTB shoes. They seem to have the same bottom as the elite road shoes, but with a rubber walking track. I have a wide foot, so the fit seems like it is a bit long. Time will tell if that works for me or not, but the LBS said to take a couple of weeks and see how I feel. The rest of the fit seems great. I can't really say that I generate enough power to feel a difference in the stiffness on the bike, but I feel faster, and sometimes that is all that matters.

Anyone else tried these?
