Tire clearance, new Nashbar frame
Does anyone know if 32's will fit the newer Nashbar road frame? The all aluminium one w/o the carbon rear. Taking into consideration variations due to rim width, brand, pressure etc.
Thanks
Thanks

If yours is anything like mine I seriously doubt 32 will fit. 23 is already fairly tight in some spots. I'd be surprised if it could fit a 28.

Going for a ride now but can check when I get back. Have that frame in garage and a set of Alex S500 with 32 knobbies to try it against.

Thank you, thank you guys. They just fit huh. Not really well enough. I don't have the frame yet and now I don't think I'm going to get one. I don't want to get a cross bike and I don't really want to spend for a Surly Pacer or Soma so...
Oh well, thanks. Nice build mazdaspeed.

Thanks, it's a 58. The geometry works nicely for me. As for the tires I'm surprised they fit but that's good to know. I don't know if they would clear my fork though.

So, how do they ride as far as vibration goes? Compared to a steel frame or aluminum with specially shaped stays. Aluminum frames are sometimes very stiff and harsh, I guess? From the pictures it doesn't seem as if the stays have been "engineered" for compliance or flexibility.
I just don't want a cross bike but I need the bigger tire for my commute. And I'm wicked cheap.
I ride an old C'dale as a MTB and its not really that bad but I'm not in the saddle that much.
Any other ideas on cheap light frame, (lightish of course) ? That might take a 32?

I have both the Nashbar Al frame and the AL with carbon seat and chain stays. The carbon rear would definitely not accommodate 32's. My 23's are crazy close with it.
I have put almost 2000 miles on the all alum frame, and I liked it. I am 6'3" and bought a 58cm, but I also ride flat bars. Never thought it was buzzy or anything. very happy.
I just built the carbon rear version, and it does take road noise out, and is not more flexy, which was my big concern. My explanation of the project is here, with pics:
