6lbs 7 oz

Well not bike related but my wife just had our second child. 6 lbs 7 ounces. a very healthy baby boy. I think dad needs a birth present. New gear, bike, both? Super Excited. Just wanted to let it out! I'll post pics when I can smuggle the camera from mom.:)

congrats, hope there is another addition that will sleep in the garage and be wiped down after each ride soon. You deserve it after such a stressful night in the hospital sitting next to your wife as she pushed. The way I look at it, you need to think of your family first which means the bike you currently have probably isn't safe anymore and should be replaced as soon as possible. This will in fact give your wife peace of mind knowing you will return back to the nest safely. While your at it, get yourself some new oakleys and a new helmet as well! :thumb:

Congrats! Prepare to take a big hit in cycling volume this year if you've been riding regularly.

A helpful tip as well if you're a regular exerciser: if you run, running with a baby stroller will be your salvation. If you don't run, it's even worth considering to start up with the baby stroller since it's such a good use of time - baby will sleep (it's weird but they settle down nearly instantly and pass out in minutes), mom gets to rest while you're out, and you get a quality workout.

Bike trailers could be in the future, but at least for starters, while the kid is too small to hold the neck straight alone, the stroller is safer.

This past year I did by far most of my exercise training with a BOB stroller , which is awesome for running. Was anxious about it at first, but now I even take the stroller off-road every week across some fairly dicey terrain, no problemo. Have done 2.5 hr runs with the baby with it. Went from being really out of shape due to sleep deprivation in the first 3 months, to being in excellent shape now.

And the running crosses over hugely to the bike. I ride intermittently now, and often go for stretches where I'll ride once (or less) per week, and yet I'm still setting personal hill climb PRs (close to 300 watts/hr) and outclimbing the guys in the local bike club who ride every day and put up a ridiculous number of miles per week. Running hard on a regular basis is really, really good bike training.

You'd better buy it now while you still have some extra $$$. ;)

Well I know a few of you are married but I am actually married to the worlds best woman. She has no problem letting me get my jollies in a couple times a week. I have a 6 yr old and he's pretty good about pulling dad's weight while I'm out peddling. And to top it off she came with the world's best mother-in-law. Top that off with my mom and I've got plenty of soilders to help me out. That may sound like I'm passing the buck...but I'm actually surprised they let me be as invovled as I am.

6 lbs 7 oz? You can probably shave a few grams off of that.... needs more carbon.

Way to go, dad! I'm sure that your part in creating this newbie was quite an effort and I congratulate you for your fortitude.

Congrats, welcome to non sleep nightmare now :D

Help your wife w/the baby, ok?

Dont get new bikes for the kid, at last a super small one, then a 16 and then a 20, used one is better because it sucks to see them all scratched, so somehow if friends have a few just take them. HELMETS must be new tho.

Enjoy man and help your wife with the baby.
