My very own first Century thread!!!
Did my first Century in Savannah georgia today! 103 miles 19mph avg. a very flat ride but it was constant pedaling...no coasting. great scenery and a bit of rough weather towards the end...high head winds from that hurricane and a bit of rain...all in all it was awesome! My taint feels like I sat on a cheese grater all day and my legs are a bit wobbly but I'm loving it! Can't wait for the next!

Congrats on the full century. One day I will complete a full century, but I typically feel ready to finish a ride by the time 65-75mi rolls around.

Congrats! I'm working towards that goal, hoping next season I'll be ready... It had to be amazing to accomplish it!

Congratulations.
Don't let anyone here tell you different (and you know they will) - but 19mph is a very good speed, especially for your first century!

Congratulations.
Yesterday I set out to do my first Century when I got 2 or 3mi BAM! the back tire flat.
I was just happy I was close to home and not 50mi from home. I'll try to get one in before the end of Summer.

I've done a dozen centuries, 30-40 metric centuries, and I've never avg 19 mph...with head winds? You should go pro.

my speed was not fast...we had a few beers with these fellows from home who did the whole thing in 4hrs 7 minutes....thats fast....thats also my goal for next year.
my girlfriend set out to do the 37 miler...missed her turn and wound up doing 57...her previous record was 22miles, so im extremely proud of her....after we realized she missed her turn these words came our of her mouth "guess its time the HTFU"
we started out at a 16mph avg for the 1st 20 or so miles because of the group pace and passing was difficult...once they started thinning out we road consistently 18-19..it wasnt until that group passed us at 21 that our avg started to gain since we were able to pull with a larger group faster and rest longer. I have no doubts we could have done 21 avg with a large enough group the whole ride. The goal for next year is 24-25avg...same Century

I did my first century about two weeks ago. I was impressed with 15 mph average. 19 is extremely well. Congratulations.

rode a very little bit...sprinted a few blocks this morning (had to because there wasnt enough room to load all the bikes and get a friend to a cafe) going on my regular group ride tomorrow. I only want more, more and more.
