How many of you wear glasses?
Look at me, I'm so cool; I spent $300 on sunglasses. Well my prescription glasses cost twice that, and they are transitions, so I don't have take them off when it's getting darker or cloudy. So much cooler!

My prescription jawbones were really expensive, but I didn't pay extra for the transitions because I use them driving the car and I heard the UV protection in the auto-glass keeps them from going dark. I was planning on having some persimmon (65% light transmission) and some clear lenses cut for the jawbones next year - as you can get the clear prescription lenses vented too, and you can switch the lenses in the jawbones.

Ya glasses since 2nd grade. Ray-Bans with continuous multi-focal lenses and clip-on shades.

I don't think I could ride with my glasses as they make me feel more vulnerable if I were to fall or have them knocked off my face. I don't even like going out to the store with my glasses at night. Always wanted to try prescription sunglasses but always found contacts soooo much better. I've been wearing them since I was 12 so perhaps it's a comfort thing. I get my crappy eyes from my mom. Was wearing correction for -3 by 4th grade. Thankfully (?) I stabilized at -6l/-6.5r in my 20s and so far it has held OK into my 30s.

I just tried about a month without sunglasses because I somehow lost my Jawbones on a long ride one night. Well, my contacts dried out way too much and it was just uncomfortable. Just got some Radar's, and much happier now. I've always preferred my contacts when cycling though, just kind of restricted on viewing angles when wearing glasses.

Behind EVERYone!!!
I started wearinng glasses when I was 20 months old, back in 1963. I have a very cool pair of prescription sunglasses that I wear when riding. I would like to get myself a nice pair of cycling specific sunglasses, though.
Cheers,
Brian J.

I have a pair of prescription Oakley Flak Jacket XLs but I don't wear them while riding. Don't want to ruin them with my sweat.

I wear Rx. You don't have to spend what the OP spent but they can be expensive to be sure. I decided to use my prescription plan to buy some Oakleys with Rx lenses and just went to WalMart for indoor glasses.

My insurance covered my contacts and a pair of Oakley Flak Jacket XLJ so i only had to pay 26 bucks for a 2 year supply of contacts and the glasses. Pretty sweet

I thought the same thing, but the curvature on the prescription jawbones is really REALLY good. I got them mainly for cycling, but I find I just pretty much where them everywhere unless I'm inside or it's dark out. If you actually go to the store to get them, they'll work with you to make sure they mark your focal center correctly. Guy actually had me assume my cycling posture and grabbed the focal center that way. I had it done right at the factory here in Foothill Ranch.

I wear glasses except when im Biking, Running or Swimming.. and in all those cases I choose to wear my contacts and sunglasses (usually rose lenses).. I hate transitions especially in cold weather..

I've been wearing prescription eyeglasses for my entire 23 years of life. I wear my regular prescription eyeglasses for road cycling, supermoto, and shooting. I was thinking about getting a strap for them while cycling, though, as they tend to slide down my nose a bit every now and then.

Vandalized since 2002
Got contacts when I was 15, got glasses when I was 18, have been wearing sunglasses for as long as I could keep track of them. I ride with my contacts and a cheap pair of throw-away sunglasses from Walmart. Funny thing is I've had those sunglasses forever, but if they were more expensive I'd have lost them a long time ago.
Edit: I still think transitions lenses make you look like a creeper

Just apply the hydrophobic coating (via the application pen) to them..it works like Rain-X
Personally, I wear one contact lens..yes one, due to an injury from taking a ball to the eye in little league. I'd look ridiculous (or rad, depending on your fancy) racing with a monocle...and it gets dried out if I don't wear sunglasses while riding. I rotate two pair (both Oakley Jawbones) that are functionally the same, and have about 6 sets of lenses, but since getting the VR50 Ruby Iridium Transistions w/my LtdEd Echelons, the other lens sets are seeing less action. The Ruby Iridium coating is what sold me on the Jawbone Echelon's Transitions, it masks the creeper vibe.

I imagine I'll have to go to the persimmon lenses this winter on the truly grey days.
