How many bikes do you own?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How many bikes do you own?

I know there has to be a few hoarders on here.

I am seeing the fault in my plan to only own one.....

I got 2. the problem is, I'm just starting so I'm not quite a reference, but I don't plan to own more than 2, I'll just switch them for better one if anything.

-My old Norco Wolverine (mountain bike)
-My new SuperSix

Sixteen.

They span an age range from 1951 to 2001 with the majority of them being vintage road bicycles and even my current road bike is vintage.

Oops... forgot the tandem.

Only 2 here...

2006 Raleigh Team w/Ultegra 6700
2005 Raleigh Prestige w/Ultegra 6600

Just got back into cycling this past spring and I'm just getting started..

I was thinking about parting with one, but recently sent my Team frame to Raleigh for some warranty work. Glad I decided to keep them both..

4 complete.... 1 carbon, 1 aluminum, 1 steel, 1 mountain.
2 extra frames with enough bits hanging around that I could probably have a fifth complete one.

Odd timing as I cleaned my garage today and had them all 7 lined up in the driveway. 4 road bikes, 1 TT (actually converted road), 1 Utility/Commuter, 1 Mtb. The mountain bike and one of the road bikes would be for sale but I'm too lazy to take pictures and list them somewhere.

is your main bike as good as expensive as your second or backup bike? I just ordered a 2012 Cervelo R3, but, I am thinking about owning a second bike, a Wilier Gran Turismo already.

1. Looking for a second (commuter/beater). After that one gets bought, I'll probably look up for an excuse to get another one, and so forth until I have no-where to put any more of them. Wait, 2 if you count the beaten up beach cruiser in the garage which I'm considering if it's worth restoring.

My daughters have 5 bikes between them... their townies, their mountain bikes, and my youngest has her own road bike while my wife has 3. Guess that makes it 25 bikes although I am looking to thin the herd a little.

Ummm ... let me count ...

- Tandem (although Rowan and I share that one )
- Titanium
- Touring Bicycle
- Racing Bicycle
- Mountain Bike
- Fixed Gear
- Town Bike (not quite built up yet)

So that's ... 7.

And of course Rowan has a whole heap too, but I'll let him count his.

The family fleet is currently at eleven. Repairwife's beater, touring bike and semi-racer, my touring/commuting bike and red Klamer racing bike which I will ride for the first time today, Squirrel's one good bike, Badger's two upright bikes and three folding bikes that the whole family uses as needed. Next year, I will qualify for a tax-free bike from the job, so then we'll have 12 unless we lose or sell one.

Not a problem. When the garage fills up, start storing them in your living room and dining room like we do.

Only one for now. I am accustomed to having two and I do not like not having a back up bike.
