Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

adjusting giant connect seatpost

My new bike came with a Giant Connect seat post. How do you adjust the angle on this thing? I thought maybe the bottom clamp is supposed to rotate however it doesn't budge when putting weight on it? Is there something I'm missing here?

I have a giant contact slr seatpost that seems to use the same (crappy) system, took me a while to figure out how to change the angle. The blue "cups" are supposed to rotate when you unscrew the bolt, but they get stuck to the seatpost body due to the pressure from the bolt. What i did was to remove them (took some force to do it, and total disasembly (sp?) of the seatpost head), and them put them back with some grease between them and the seatpost body, that allows them to rotate them kinda freely when you unscrew the bolt. Hope this made sense.
