Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First century today

It was awesome. SO much fun. There's something magical about being out there on the road with so many other cyclists... and not giving a $hit if someone waves or not. haha. Seriously though, I'm spent and I cant wait to do it again.

What century did you do today?

I knew the Tour de Scottsdale was happening but hadn't heard of another.

Congrats on your ride!

Basically anything that got in my way. After the race there was lots of stuff being handed out so I grabbed a couple bananas, cookies and granola bars. Once I got home I had an Odwalla protein shake. After that neither I or my wife were up to cooking so we ordered pizza and salads.

(Did you wave to vicelord as you passed him? <- inside joke.)

The Tour de Scottsdale was 70 miles.

Under 4 hours is a respectable time.

Good Job!

Ok NOW I've officially completed my first century . I did El Tour de Tucson this weekend. I did the 111.7 miles in 6 hours 44 min. Great weather too. It was about 6o degrees at the start, 70 and slightly overcast most of the day.
