Saddle bag options

I have a Topeak Medium Aero Wedge Pack http://www.topeak.com/products/Bags/..._medium_Velcro at times the Velcro touches my shorts and is started to ruin them.
I can probably cut the Velcro out or even put some black tape around the Velcro but was looking at an alternative solution.
Which saddle bag do you use?
I have read many of you just carry your stuff in jersey pockets; do you put everything in a Ziploc bag (or other)?
Does it stretched out your jersey?
Are the small saddle bags that clip onto the saddle big enough to carry extra tube, tire levers, co2 and co2 inflator? Something like this: http://www.topeak.com/products/Bags/sidekick_small

Thanks for sharing

I am planning to purchase the clamp-on bags from Competitive Cyclist - no velcro. I hate losing expensive bibs because of my seat bag - been wearing my "ventilated" ones until I could find a solution. CC seems to have it.

Have a Fizik saddle? If so, their ICS bags will virtually eliminate wear on shorts.

I have a Prologo Kappa Saddle, I see CC have some Prologo clip saddle bags as well.

Recently bought a small bontrager aero clip on bag. Doesn't fit much beyond tire change gear and keys, but its light. The phone now goes in my pockets in a baggie.

I never had problems with any of my saddle bags rubbing my shorts, but this one should pretty well take care of that issue. The same for the sidekick you posted.
Its a Topeak micro seat pack. Just big enough to hold a tube and levers and a small multitool. I haven't tried CO2, but I bet that might fit if you take out the multitool.

I'm personally anti-stuff-in-jersey pockets, but that seems to not be the norm here on BF. I hate having stuff in my pockets. So I use a small seat bag and a small handlebar bag for extra Fred points. (Linus "the pouch")

I use a less conventional saddle bag setup that works surprisingly well (I didn't expect it to).

I use the X-lab Rocket Pocket bag which was meant to sit atop your seatpost between your legs behind the stem. I bought this for use on a Cervelo TT bike with a blade-shaped seatpost which prevented use of conventional rear saddle mounts.

However, I found that it mounts on a regular road bike beautifully in a vertical position, with low profile, and far less dangling and thumping around than my prior rearseat bags, mainly because you loop two sets of velcro around your seatpost, not just one, which seems to stabilize it more. It's been great - I would actually get this same setup again for a road bike knowing what I do now about it.

I have a small Topeak that has the quick release attachment, similar to the one pictured in #6, so no hook-and-loop stuff.

I have the large areo wedge and haven't had the velcro come near my shorts as far as I can tell. Maybe the angle is different because I had to get the special hanger for my rails and that puts the nose of the bag lower or something? I don't know, but I've enjoyed mine, sorry it's not working out for you, but I have heard several people have that complaint.

I use the Banjo Brothers Mini Seat Bag and it's great.

Lezyne. Micro. Caddy.

Buy it now and thank me later.

It has a wide strap that goes through the saddle rails. No stupid strap around the seatpost. Big enough to hold the basics.

See posting #14 below for pic.

That pic seems to show a stupid strap around the seatpost. Or am I seeing things?

Indeed the Lezyne Micro Caddy wedge bag is the answer to the problem. Best saddle bag I've tried.

http://www.amazon.com/Lezyne-Micro-C.../dp/B003BCE9D8

Perfect size, especially if you have a flat multi-tool that fits in the special slot on the underside. Also has an internal pocket for a Co2 cartridge as well as 2 slots for tire tools.

I got the medium. Added bonus if you're a weight weenie, because relative to the other bags it's pretty light.

PS, the pic in a previous post is the wrong item. There is no seatpost strap on the micro caddy wedge bag.

You are correct! Bad link. The real micro caddy does NOT have the stupid strap and is the bomb.

Here is my bike with the bag:

As you can plainly see, there is no stupid strap around the seatpost.

Does anybody use this bag in the jersey? Does it move around a lot in the jersey?

Though the straps are velcro, I haven't had any issues with the small Timbuk2 Seat Bag. I opted to go against the clipping bags because of the eventual likelihood of the clip (if made of plastic) breaking.

Stuffed inside is: Extra Tube, Tire Levers, Various sized allen wrenches, a $20 bill, copies of my ID and Health Insurance Card. It probably has room for an extra CO2 cartridge, but everything else goes in the jersey pockets.

[edit] in reply to your question(s): Only my ID and Cell phone go in a ziplock. I can't say my pockets have been stretched out from putting stuff in them, but I try to spread out all the items I carry between the 3 pockets.

Arundel Dual. The best, bar none.
