very fancy athletic tape.

kiloRH 10-14-11 11:44 AM

Oh, not talking about bar tape here.

zigmeister 10-14-11 11:50 AM

I've become a believer of kinesiology tape now since having some knee issues. This stuff is NOT the same as some athletic tape. I currently use KT Tape you can pickup from Walmart. I buy the 14-10" pre-cut Y version, on sale for usually $8. It provides enough support for me knee, yet flexes and isn't a nuisance/bothersome at all while riding/pedalling. It is really the perfect mix for joint/ligament/tendon support for me personall to help alleviate knee pain and issues.

The one problem I have with KT's tape is even with proper preparation, rubbing alcohol on my application area and cleaning it well, it always eventually starts to peel off at the edges in many areas. It lasts long enough for my races/training rides, but there adhesive is a bit weak IMO.

I'm glad to see that Spidertech is offering pre-cut Y strips, since that is what I use, two Y-strips per knee. Spidertech's pricing isn't bad for the quantity, even at full price. I just bought 2 boxes of those for the price of 1 with the code. BUT, shipping was $9?!?! A bit stiff for a couple of small boxes IMO.

Anyway, thanks for the post TS and info. If you use other tape like this, gives you a chance to try there version now for a reasonable cost. Hopefully it will stick better on the edges/ends than the KT Tape doesn.

+1 on kinesio tape (different brands available). I use it for running with my nagging ITB. Works wonders and no, it's not the same as simple athletic tape. In case anyone's wondering, YouTube has lots of videos on the application depending on injury/issue.

in a pinch it can be used to give old bar tape a little more life.

zigmeister I've never used KT tape, so I can't speak for that product. Two things that are key to making SpiderTech tape work is shaving or trimming the hair in the application area as well as vigorously rubbing the application to activate the acrylic adhesive.

I just took the pic below a few minutes ago. I applied the tape Tuesday morning, have had several workouts this week as well as wearing bluejeans today and the edge are holding strong even though I've fallen behind on keeping the hair trimmed.

last bump... offer expires at the end of the month. I'll get another family code in the new year for those who can't take advantage of the offer right now.

Shipping in Canada is $11.00 Fedex ground plus taxes plus US dollar exchange. Other than getting stung like that, the products are great.

gadabout007 11-04-11 09:34 AM

When you're at the checkout, select United Postal Service ground, the charge is flat $7. Shipments in Canada come from Toronto, Canadian residents will be charged GST, Ontario residents will be charged HST. US shipments come from Boise ID and local pickup is an option at the checkout.

They have extended the 50% off family code to Dec 31/11 http://www.spidertech.com promo code spiderrs

Dude, you sure you're not a shill? I mean, really. Last bump already. I'm been an ardent user of kinisio tape for a good long while now, using several different brands. While I have a preference, mainly on cut and length, I'd still say none are "superior" than the other in terms of quality or performance. Keep this up and I'd definitely avoid Spidertech because of you.

Dude how is this unlike any of the other threads in this forum consisting of posts discussing sales, group buys, special offers, etc? Why is it that your outrage is completely absent from those threads... especially when it's obvious from the code in their links that many of the authors are being payed to post? I'm just askin' because there are many threads in this forum that I find offensive, or just don't interest me. I'm a grownup and capable of simply ignoring or scrolling by without leaving a comment of my disapproval or threats.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to ignore your selective morality, fake outrage, and remind you that I DON'T NEED YOUR PERMISSION to post.

mpath 11-04-11 11:07 AM

Shill. Where's my outrage? Grow up.

jdon 11-04-11 02:42 PM

Great products although not alone in the industry. They support a cycling team so I choose Spidertech over the others.

BarracksSi 11-05-11 09:45 AM

Commercial thread, right? Isn't there a subforum for this?
