Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My Winter Helix Build

Hey all!!!

Purchased a Helix from the Lynskey Loft, had to send it back because they forgot to put on cable stops so hopefully I should see it again real soon....
Anyway I've purchased most of the group that I'll be putting on and just thought I'd share the listed weight as compared to what I actually weighed them at. Hope this works.

it's a seat collar, similar to this Paragon item

This allows the forces in the top tube, seat stays, and seat post to be carried through the seat collar, which is thicker than the rest of the tube. On welded steel frames there is often a sleeve at that point, but it's not as economic to do that on a Ti bike.

Didn't really want them but as someone stated I got it off of the Lynskey Loft and that's what it came with. But I may get some use out of them, you never know.....Now that I have my Wife cycling I may need a rack to carry Her junk when we go on longer rides....

I'm so astonishingly jealous. I've never wanted a titanium bike before I saw these pictures. That raw look is absolutely beautiful and the twisted TT is simply amazing. Sometimes I wish I made more money, I don't really spend alot on myself...and would have to save for YEARS to get a Ti bike frame..

Very nice purchase and good pics.

Why put a SR cassette on a bike that's not a weight weenie to start with?

It was added as part of a package because they didn't have a Record cassette so I didn't pay extra for it.

Way cool!

I would exchange those bottle cages, though, for some steel or titanium cages. Did King steel cages for my R330, and I think it improves the look.

Awesome build! I agree with the sentiment on King cages - go with ti though. Spare no expense, right?
