Feasting while I ride!

Man, it's a wonderful time of year to be riding the back country roads. So many old abandoned fruit trees on the backroads I ride give me a slew of snacking choices as I ride. I know of well over 20 apple trees, a dozen of so plums bushes, cherry trees, and apricots bordering the roads on my normal routes. None of these are on any developed plots or someones fenced off land so free grazing as far as I am concerned. Probably eating more calories than I'm burning on my daily rides right now.:lol:

1 word (pesticides)...and if you are feasting on all of those available fruits.......Dont venture too far from the local bathroom!

You know somebody who goes around spraying down randomly growing trees on undeveloped land?

I live in South Jersey and everything is sprayed on purpose or not! The Garden state sucks!

 Yeah I'm real sure that's not a problem. Heck I don't even use pesticides on the apple trees in my own yard. I am not too worried about someone spraying random abandoned trees. Now if you had mentioned biting into a worm then...

Oh and the "local bathroom" is the nearest grove of trees. Seriously though, 30 to 40 mile rides munching along with no problems.

If they aren't on BLM land, then you are trespassing/stealing. Someone is paying the propertytaxes on that land, or the county owns it.

My last century passed through an orange grove. it was a good time to consume some electrolytes

Or it's National Forest Land, county park land, our local open space conservatory (whom I support for free with my photography) etc, etc. Everything I hit up is road side and outside of any fence lines. Plus this is Utah we are actually quite generous with each other here. My property is bordered by a local biking/walking path. I have purposely transplanted grapes, raspberries, and strawberries to border the trail to share with anyone passing by. Oh well I'm just a thief...

To Catch a Thief, just wait till he's behind some bushes with the runs.

That might be true, but last time I checked no self respecting officer would cite you for that, they would have to be a real dusche or you would have to piss them off before hand... If they don't enforce it... it ain't a real law.

Serously... the fruit would likely rot on the tree if not eaten by a random passer by, or a bird... and the bird isn't paying taxes either... so should we shoot the birds for trespassing/stealing?

LOL, funny thing is I was shooting the breeze with a local deputy the other day while "stealing" from one of these trees. He was sitting under the tree with a radar gun. Didn't even notice the apples on the tree but took one from me while we talked. Would that be a bribe?? :>)
