Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Long Beach Marathon 2011 (bike tour) 26.2 miles on a 36"......?!

Another 26.2 miles of awesome fun-ness at the annual Long Beach Marathon! I rode it non-stop and filmed while riding, and still managed to finish in 2:11, so that’s not bad!

Took a while just to get past the start line due to thousands of bikes bottle necking at the start. The crowds were great, and they sounded like a people at a rock concert, haha!

Here's the video, and I hope you enjoy.

Thanks, yeah I really enjoyed every minute of it...except the sit bone pain I still have the day after, haha! I'm pretty sure it was because I did it all non stop. I usually stop at least a couple times on rides that long to stretch and get the circulation going again. Could also have a lot to do with changing the setup for this ride; I usually have aerobars connected to my "T" handle, which allow me to lean forward and change my position on the saddle. That could be the reason. I had removed those so I could attach my camera and monopod under the handle. It wouldn't have fit with the aerobars on.
