Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First bad day cycling........okay 2ed but i dont count the first

Sooooooo i was riding my bike at the austin veloway and was just riding along and noticed one of my pedals was clipped in but not all the way in.I tried to pull my leg out to check if the tension was all the way loosened but i was still attached in the front.I didn't realized what happened until i finished that lap.I check my my pedal and the screw came out all the way but was still there.I tried to screw the tension screw back in but I just couldn't get it back in for the life of me.I evetually asked someone to give it a try and they got it in.I got on my bike and went for another lap.............well half a lap.Half way through i noticed it was becoming harder and hard to pedal and i realized i had a flat when i felt my back wheel bumping.Pulled over to the side and thats when i had that oh **** moment.I've never changed the tube on a rode bike but i have on MTBs.I haven't even used my pump i had just bought. That day when I was at home I was thinking about replacing the tube to see how hard it was but i didnt.Luckily I managed to get the popped tube out and replace it with a new one and the pump worked great.Austin's cycling community was great.Almost everyone rode by asking if i needed anything or any help.

Not really anything serious but i consider this the first bad day except for the when i first got my bike and crashed it .

On my first ride... I came up to a red light and couldn't get unclipped. It was a big hit to my ego.
