Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

my new build + Michelin Pro4 tires

Hey guys!

I just got back after testing out my new bike. I was able to snag a charge juicer frame and fork on closeout. It's a steel frame built out of Tange Prestige. I built it up with full SRAM Apex, except for the brakes because I needed longer reach. It has a Ritchey WCS headset and stem. The wheelset is a Handspun built from 105 hubs and Velocity A23 rims. Best of all is that I received a pair of brand new Michelin Pro4's. I need to ride these more, but with the frame and wheel combination I have the bike is very nimble. Cornering seems to be great!

To bad winter is pretty much here...

Picture to come tomorrow!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with them.

I took some photos today but they need to be touched up a bit. I did weigh the bike today, and including the crappy platforms I threw on their for commuting and the heavy seat post that I borrowed from my touring bike, it weighed in at exactly 21 pounds. It's still pretty darn quick though. Nothing beats the feel of steel!

I just ordered 4 spare "sets" of P3's-race and 2 sets of P3's-course.
Still waiting to see more on the P4's.... Good news so far.

Photo credits go to Jess Richards of Tree Fort Bikes. I don't know if any of you are familiar with charge bikes, but their frames are great! I think they're some of the nicest steel frames for the money, the Tange Prestige feels awesome. Easily better than Surly's 4130 (although I like them as a company).

Which is why I'm saving up for the new Whisky road fork. That ought to lighten it up a bit too.

As for the fun, I already am (except for the cold)!
