Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well, Italian-threaded BBs are definitely not the norm -- I don't think that Specialized sells any bike equipped as such.

Also, BB30 is renamed by Specialized as "OSBB" (Oversize Bottom Bracket), which isn't on the lower-spec bikes like your Apex-equipped bike.

Specialized is a mainstream manufacturer that isn't going to futz around too much with a bunch of BB standards. So, if it's not OSBB/BB30, it's plain ol' English thread.

Specialized is 'fussin' around a bit. On their highest end Sworks frames...Tarmac and even Roubaix, they spec PF-30. They also coin this OSBB...Over Size Bottom Bracket, which is quite confusing because they also call their BB30 bikes OSBB.
